USD 475 promotes wellness for students, staff, and our community by sharing how healthy choices will improve the quality of their lives. The district also strives to demonstrate progress on the Kansas wellness policy standards in nutrition, nutrition promotion and education, physical activity as well as integrated wellness in the USD 475 community. This includes sharing relevant and timely wellness information with our learning community and collaborating with other agencies to share resources and address mutual wellness goals. In addition, we implement a variety of wellness activities for staff throughout the school year. As the district’s wellness coordinator, it is my pleasure to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and patrons to enhance wellness opportunities at school and in our community.
