The Geary County Schools USD 475 District Administration is made up of a team of professionals with a vast amount of experience in technology, innovation, and relationships. The Superintendent of Schools provides leadership for the district and works with District Administrators to provide first class programs, education, and processes to Geary County Schools students and staff.
This District Administration Team includes Executive Directors of Student Support Services, Communications, Innovation and Technology, Special Education, Human Resources, and Teaching and Learning. The team also includes the Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. It is overseen by the Superintendent and the Associate Superintendent. Members of the team lead departments in their field and provide support and assistance to both students and staff within the Geary County Schools community.
Dr. Reginald Eggleston
The Superintendent of Schools oversees the operation of the district. His role also allows him to visit schools in order to monitor operations and interact with students and staff. The Superintendent provides guidance and direction to the district during his assignment.
Dr. Debra Gustafson
The Associate Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in developing, achieving, and maintaining the district’s educational programs and related services to increase student achievement through effective leadership, supervision, collaboration, and coordination and to assist the Superintendent in the accomplishment of the goals of the District Strategic Plan.
The Assistant to the Superintendent manages the calendar for the Superintendent, his travel, and dictates meetings. She is also the Clerk to the Board of Education.
The Chief Operations Officer oversees the Business Department which manages the Business Department, Facilities, the maintenance of buildings, and all technology needs for the district. He ensures all facilities are up to code and maintained properly, and all the technology needs of staff and students are met.
The Executive Director of Personnel Services coordinates the work of the three departments; Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll. All employee matters and employment processes are directed to Personnel Services.
The Executive Director for Student Support Services serves as a resource and support for special programs, as well as a liaison for parent communications.
The Chief Financial Officer manages the fiscal services department that is comprised of three functional areas: financial, budget, debt reporting, as well as accounts payable and receivable management. The officer also manages the fiscal compliance and data reporting.
The Executive Director of Special Education is responsible for implementing and maintaining birth to age 21 Special Education programs and services in conformance to District, State and Federal objectives; providing written support and/or conveying information; serving as a resource to patrons, school personnel and the Board of Education; and maintaining adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget.
The Construction Program Manager is involved in various aspects of planning and executing construction and remodeling projects, including but not limited to: grant writing, reporting, program management, oversight of the Intergovernmental Support Agreement.
The communications coordinator coordinates district-wide communications, public information services and marketing activities. This position assists with school and community relations and helps plan district and community programs and events. This role also includes participation in emergency operations planning and crisis mitigation programs.
