School buses

Student transportation for the district is provided under contract by B&B Busing and Junction City Transportation and their team of dedicated drivers. There are approximately 3,200 students transported on 92 bus routes on a daily basis representing over 507,000 miles driven annually.

USD 475 Pupil Transportation Guidelines

Bus routes are established with primary regard for safety, efficiency, economy, and are subject to change by the Board of Education. Geary County Schools provides bus transportation as outlined below:

Junction City High School from the following locations:

  • Fort Riley
  • Outside the city limits of Junction City in Eastern Geary County
  • All areas west of US Highway 77
  • Grant Avenue
  • Milford City and Milford rural
  • Grandview Plaza

Fort Riley Middle School from the following locations:

  • Main Post and Marshall Air Field
  • Colyer Manor and Forsyth

Junction City Middle School from the following locations:

  • Designated “pick-up” points east of US Hwy 77 and within Junction City limits
  • City of Milford, Milford rural and Grandview Plaza
  • Outside the city limits of Junction City
  • Areas north of K-18 Hwy (Sutterwoods & Olivia Farms)

Junction City Elementary Schools from the following locations:

  • Eastern Geary County (outside the city limits) to Sheridan Elementary
  • Hunter’s Ridge and Patriot Pointe Additions to Eisenhower Elementary
  • Hargreaves Hilltop Addition (West of Thompson Drive) to Eisenhower Elementary
  • Western Geary County (outside the city limits) to Spring Valley Elementary
  • Areas north of K-18 Hwy and west of US Hwy 77 to Spring Valley Elementary
  • All Grant Avenue (except those residing in JC Regency) to Washington Elementary
  • Junction City Regency (948 Grant Ave) to Franklin Elementary
  • Cannonview Lane (Geary Estate Apts.) to Grandview Elementary
  • Rural Milford area to Milford Elementary

Fort Riley Elementary Schools from the following locations:

  • Colyer Manor to Ware Elementary
  • Main Post and Marshall Air Field to Ft. Riley Elementary

Exceptional Student Services Division – Students are transported as required by their student Individual Education Plan (IEP) or by a Section 504 Team.

Private Schools – Students attending state accredited private schools who reside on regularly established routes may be transported.
