The USD 475 Information Technology department‘s commitment to serving students and staff includes completely wireless campuses, teacher classroom technology integration training through a three-year institute, and over 3,000 wireless notebook computers for student use and individual notebooks for teachers.

Classrooms and media centers have SMARTBoards with projectors, encouraging student interaction with the subject matter through technology.  Scanners, document cameras, and other technologies are supplied on a site-by-site basis.

State testing and classroom research have been supported through an ever-expanding Internet access. Bandwidth has steadily grown from 12 Mbit, to 20, to 50 (implementing in summer 2009).

Junction City Cox Cable’s Channel 20 highlights student work and district information. Content is produced by the district and streamed from its totally digital transmission facilities.

The department’s staff includes application developers, computer technicians, customer support representatives, Infinite Campus clerks, instructional technologists, network administrators, and technical specialists.
