USD #475 Early Childhood Program

The USD #475 Early Childhood Program offers free educational services through a range of program intensities for children with identified developmental needs and for typically developing preschool-age children who meet one or more of the grant priorities identified through the Kansas State Department of Education.

Placement in the USD #475 Early Childhood Program begins with a free developmental screening and/or evaluation. Monthly developmental screenings are offered for children ages birth to 5 years. Children are screened in the areas of: motor, cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills, as well as vision and hearing. Information is shared with parents and recommendations are made concerning referrals for further medical or educational evaluation as deemed necessary. Eligible preschool-age children are prioritized for placement in one of the USD #475 Early Childhood Program classrooms. Referrals will be made to Head Start for eligible children.
