USD 475 K-5 Art Exhibition
|
The art teachers of Geary County USD 475, in cooperation with the
Junction City Arts Council, invite students, parents and patrons of the
community to a USD 475 K-5 Art Exhibition to be held from March 5 – 25,
at the Junction City Arts Council Gallery, 107 W. Seventh Street. March
is “Youth Arts Month” and student work will also be on display from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, and from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturdays. |
JCHS German Classes Again Demonstrate

 Lynnetta Sislo, Junction City High School German instructor, reports
that once again the JCHS German students have swept the medals at the
Schülerkongress held in Lawrence, Kansas. The Schülerkongress
is an annual academic contest for high school students in the region who
are studying German. The JCHS students returned from the 2010 contest
with 57 medals, more than doubling that of any other school

New AVID Program Helps College
Freshmen
|
A new USD 475 program, AVID, supports students from eighth
through twelfth grade when they enroll in an honors, weighted, or AP
class. They learn how to think and study like a college student. They
learn leadership, organization, goal setting, and student success
skills. They make campus visits that prepare them for the college
