The Communications Department is highly focused on effectively and efficiently promoting Geary County Schools students, faculty, and staff. This department publishes all of the district’s marketing and promotional brochures, maintains the district website, and manages all district websites as well as oversees district use of social media. Communications is also the public relations arm of USD 475. The media relations coordinator serves as the official school spokesperson and oversees all district communication while working with the department to provide print, broadcast, and social media to the public in order to highlight the many accomplishments of Geary County Schools. Communications also oversee district events and meetings, social media and web presence, image and branding, history, and district award programs.
Image, Style, and Branding
The USD 475 brand is an important piece of conveying professionalism and competency to our families, community members, and other supporters. Maintaining this image is key to establishing trust and credibility, especially because of our highly-transient population. Families should be able to recognize an official USD 475 communications piece by the branding, which includes those pieces developed by individual schools.
The Communications Department oversees the use of district sanctioned logos and branding. The use of district image should be approved by the Communications Department. Branding use must follow the image and branding guidelines for USD 475. School and district logos can be obtained by request on a case-by-case basis for items such as district programs, events, and school/district sanctioned items. For more information contact the Communications Department.
