Parent Involvement Parent Involvement is a vital, necessary component in Geary County Head Start. It allows parents to become actively involved in their child's development. It teaches them about Parent Advocacy as well as Parent Rights. It gives parents the opportunity to be part of the learning process and help make decisions on how and what their children mentally, physically, and emotionally learn. A monthly Family Fun Night is planned which gives parents the opportunity to come out, talk with their child's teacher, meet other parents and enjoy time with their children through playing and fun. Parents are also given the opportunity to work in the classroom with their child as a volunteer. Geary County Head Start works with the whole family, not just the child. Male Involvement Fathers and
significant male role models play an important and irreplaceable
role in healthy child development. Head Start programs
strengthen their partnerships with fathers and promote involvement
of fathers with their children. At Geary County Head Start we
provide monthly activities for male involvement. |
