To Open the Database

 

  1. Open Internet Explorer.

     
  2. In the address box, type http://6trait.int475.org

     
  3. Click the Enter key.


  4. You will see            .

     
  5. For the UserID, type your first and last names without any space(s).  For example, marilyndipasquale.  Upper and/or lower cases do not matter.

     
  6. For the Password, use the same password you use for your district email password.   Upper and/or lower cases do matter.

     
  7. Click the  button.


     
  8. You will see the home page .

     
  9. If no students are listed, you need to skip to step 35.



To Sort Home Page Data

 

  1. To sort the data for viewing, click on the  on the right side of the sort window and highlight your selection.  .

    You may sort by:

Student Name

Assessment Name

Term

Trait

Section

Weighted Score

Assessment Date

Composite Score

Assessment Type

Performance Level based on Composite Score

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. As soon as the choice is made, another filter box will pop up.


     
  2. You can then continue to filter according to the choice made in step10.

 

To Print the Home Page Data

 

  1. Go to  on the Menu bar.

     
  2. Click on .

     
  3. You will see      .

 

  1. Click on Landscape for your Orientation.

 

  1. Click  the  button.

 

  1. Now click on the  button on the Home page.

     
  2. You will see .

 

  1. Choose your printer.

     
  2. Click the button.

 

To Export to Microsoft Excel

 

  1. To export the data to Excel, click the  button.

     
  2. You will see .

     
  3. Click the  button.

     
  4. Save the file to a chosen location.

    To Open a Student Record on the Home Page

     
  5. To open a student record on the Home page, click on the appropriate student name.
     
  6. If a window does not open, you may be asked to allow pop-ups.

     
  7.  Look under the menu bar.  Do you see the following? .

     
  8. If so, click on it.

     
  9. You will see

     
  10. Highlight Always Allow Pop-ups from this Site.

     
  11. You will then see .

     
  12. Click the  button.
  13. You will see

     
  14. Click the  button.

     
  15. You will see.

     
  16. Choose the appropriate filters.  Edit the appropriate cells.

     
  17. Click the  button to update the data.

 

 

  1. If there is an error when entering data, you will be asked to please correct the following error before continuing.  You will see



     

 

 

To Enter Assessment Data

 

  1. To enter assessment data, click on the  link in the purple box toward the top of the screen. .

     
  2. You will see the default values box.


     
  3. Apply all the default values for the assessment data you are entering.

 

  1. On the drop down box for score entry choice, you may choose one of the following:

 

All students

Term

Student Name

Section Name

 

 

 

  1. After you have made your default choices, click the  button.

 

  1. You will only see grade level specific traits.

     



 



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Your default choices are entered automatically.

     
  2. You will enter raw scores of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 for the appropriate traits.  Click in the appropriate cell.  Use the Tab key to move across the cells.

     
  3. When you are finished entering raw scores, click the  button.

     

If there is an error when entering data, you will immediately receive an email letting you know an error has been made and asking you to re-enter that specific student’s scores.


 

To Delete Student Scores

 

  1. To delete student scores, go to the Home page, click on the appropriate student name.  When the pop-up window opens, click the  button at the bottom of the pop-up window.  You will only be deleting a set of scores, not the student record.  After clicking the  button, you will be returned to the home page.


     

To Inactivate/Activate a Student on the Enter Assessment Data Page

 

  1. On the Enter Assessment Data page click the  box if a student is no longer on the class list.

     
  2. The inactive record(s) will appear at the bottom of the page.

     

 

 

  1. To reactivate a student(s), scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the   box next to the student’s name.

     
  2. Click the  button.

     


To Sign Out

 

  1. To sign out of the program, click the button in the purple box.
