USD 475 and JCEA Begin Negotiations

On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020, the first round of contract negotiations will begin between USD 475 and the Junction City Educator’s Association (JCEA). Negotiations will include teams of representatives from both organizations.  They will begin with 3 rounds of negotiations, with the first round taking place on June 2nd

Mr. John Rasmussen, Commissioner of South Central-Wichita Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, will act as moderator for the negotiations.  He will monitor the negotiations remotely, through video conferencing software.

The negotiation team from USD 475 will include members of the Board of Education, district administrators, and district staff.  Mrs. Tina Kausler will take notes during the proceedings.  The JCEA negotiations team will include their President, Vice President, Secretary, members of their Board, as well as teachers. Negotiations will be held in the Board Room at the Mary E. Devin Center.  Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and limited space available, the public will be asked to watch the negotiations remotely, rather than in person.  USD 475 will live stream the negotiations to the district’s Facebook page.
