Diversity Fair

USD 475 is partnering with the Junction City Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee sponsoring a community-wide Diversity Day on Saturday, January 18  from 10:00-2:00 in Junction City High School’s Shenk Gymnasium at 900 N. Eisenhower.

Dr. King was instrumental in successfully protesting racial discrimination and advancing civil rights through non-violent measures. In honor of Dr. King, the theme for this year’s celebration of diversity is “Visualization to Realization-A Dream Come True”.

Our committee is looking for people/groups interested in representing their culture by displaying artifacts, flags, games, wearing traditional clothing, making a craft or playing a game or any other representation of culture.

We are also looking for individuals or groups to represent their culture through dancing, singing, storytelling, etc.  Performances will be scheduled on a stage in the gymnasium. If you know of anyone that might be interested, please spread the word.  We would like this to be a huge event for our community!

Please contact me at susanpender@usd475.org or at 785-717-4045 if you are interested in participating or would like more information.
